Imperial Footprints
Imperial Footprints is a project I started during the residency. I collect materials from urban spaces like dust, debris, and waste and turn them into pigments. These materials often come from old buildings or infrastructure from empire.

Later tracing them back to colonized regions, I reflect on how resource extraction, colonization, and power still shape our cities of empire and affects colonized regions today. The pigments become part of paintings that tell this ongoing story and the cycle of imperialism.

The residency culminated in a body of works that was exhibited in an open studio format.
